Many electrical items that are faulty can be serviced or repaired for a reasonable cost
However If the item is no longer needed it may be able to be used by others, If uneconomical or impossible to repair it can usually be recycled.
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations aim to maximize separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, retailers may provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge.
As a responsible retailer we will:
- Encourage you to make best use of functioning equipment, and will advise if it is suitable for donating to charity.
- Offer to take back an item of waste electronic equipment when selling a new item with the same function i.e. on a like for like basis.
- Offer the in-store service for free - but we may charge to cover transport costs if collecting items from customers’ homes.
- Give customers 28 days to bring back their waste item.
- Take back all types of electrical and electronic equipment that we sell on this basis.
Servicing equipment
If it's an elderly Linn LP12 or a used piece of Naim equipment you may be able to trade these in against something new. Contact us and we can advise. If all else fails, you may be surprised with what some classic Hi-Fi equipment sells for on eBay, there are plenty of enthusiasts out there! Please note that we do not generally provide a reselling service for used equipment in-store or on eBay.
