With the new TD 403 DD, Thorens expands its 400 series of direct-drive, plug-and-play turntables. Visually a true Thorens, the new TD 403 DD features the same proven, smooth-running drive as the successful TD 402 DD, but distinguishes itself from its smaller sibling with a more substantial 1.4 kg, 22 mm thick die-cast aluminum platter and the audiophile TP 150 tonearm, also found in the new TD 1500 model. A high-quality, pre-aligned 2M Blue cartridge from the Danish cartridge specialist Ortofon is included as standard. With its nude diamond stylus featuring an elliptical profile, this cartridge proves to be an ideal partner.

  • NEWLY DEVELOPED TONEARM THORENS TP 150
  • The new TP 150 tonearm is also used on the newly introduced Thorens TD 1500 model and is similar to the TP 124 tonearm used on the new TD 124 DD. It has an effective mass of 14 grams, is adjustable in height and azimuth, and is equipped with a standard SME connector, so that changing the headshell or fitting a different cartridge is no problem.
  • The antiskating is adjusted by a sliding weight in the arm base, which is adjusted via a nylon thread guided over a ruby ​​bearing.

    Although not all our items are available as direct 'add to basket' we can often arrange to deliver the items and install the equipment ourselves.

  • We do indeed stock many of the items featured on our website, but due to the large range of equipment we offer and the variety of finishes and options on some products it would be impractical to stock all products in all finishes. Some products will be special order, and stock levels rise and fall on popular items, so if you are coming in to see a particular item please contact us first to check we have it available. A few brands are mail order only and we do not generally have them on display in the showroom. The showroom is well stocked and the items on display for demonstration change regularly.
  • Yes, we are located on a mixed residential and commercial street and there is reasonably priced pay and display parking both outside and in the surrounding streets. It is free after 5.30pm if you want to check our the local restaurants in the evening to celebrate your purchases!
  • If you know exactly what you want - that's great, we can provide. However - many of our customers find that a product demonstration and comparison has helped them make the correct decision for them. You can ask any questions and listen in a relaxed, no pressure environment before you purchase- We have 30 years of experience in making customers happy and we may be able to suggest something you might not have considered.
