Where are we?

Battersea, London – take a look at our contact us for our full details and directions.

What are your delivery charges and policy?

We offer free delivery to Mainland UK addresses for items that are purchased from our webshop. Free delivery does not apply to items purchased by telephone or over the counter sales. We are not responsible for missed or failed delivies. We reserve the right to charge for delivery or refuse delivery on some items and this would be agreed with the customer and clearly stated on the product page or communicated in person before goods are dispatched. Please take a look at our Delivery Terms and Conditions page for further details.

What is 'Available Exclusively in Store' and why aren't all of your products available to 'add to basket'?

Different suppliers have different policies regarding shipping and some items require professional installation and/or setup. Although not all items are available as direct 'add to basket' we can often arrange to deliver the items with our own van and install team and then setup or install equipment, and even do a tutorial if necessary. There is a charge for these services so please contact us first and we can discuss any queries and options with you.

Is everything that is on your website, available to view and audition in store?

We do stock many of the items featured on our website, but due to the large range of equipment we offer and the variety of finishes and options on some products we cannot stock all products in all finishes. Some products will be special order so if you are coming in to see a particular item please contact us first to check we have it available. Some brands are to order only and we do not have them on display in the store.

Is there parking at your store?

Yes, there is extensive reasonably priced pay and display parking both outside and in the surrounding streets. It is free after 5.30pm.

Do I need a demonstration before I buy?

If you know what you want, no problem – we can provide. But if you are in two minds then a demonstration can help you know how your purchase will sound and you can try different options. You can ask any questions before you commit and give us the opportunity to advise and to help - careful component matching can make the difference between a system you can listen to or really enjoy for many years! Just give us a call in advance, and we can book you in!

What do I need?

Depends what you want to achieve! Give us a call or pop in and we can discuss options with you.

How should I split my budget?

Current thinking is that cost wise, the most important element is the primary source, closely followed by the amplifier and then the speakers. This may vary depending on the system and the room in which it will be. Normally cabling should be around 15% of the system cost. Things have gotten a bit shaken up since the arrival of digital streaming, but ask us, we try to put ourselves in your shoes and split the budget as we would if we were buying.

How long is my equipment guaranteed for?

As members of BADA (see below) we offer a two year guarantee on all new equipment. We also offer a 10 day exchange on all goods (excluding special orders). Some manufacturers offer up to five years cover for parts.

For internet sales there are specific guarantee and return requirements, please see our Ts and Cs page for full details.

How can I pay for it?

We accept  Debit Cards, Credit Cards (inc Amex)  and in-store we also take Cheques and Cash, We normally ask for a 50% deposit on order with the balance payable on collection/delivery. For internet sales we require all payment up front at time of order.

Can you deliver things I buy in store?

We can still arrange delivery for a modest charge in the local area, or courier to you if you are further away. Please refer to product pages for internet sales.

Can you install it for me?

We are always happy to arrange installation. If you purchase a complete system from us in store, the first hour is free of charge which would normally cover setting up a simple system if you are very local. We may travel further afield but this would be subject to a charge that we could discuss at point of sale.

Where should I put my Hi-Fi system?

We offer a wide range of equipment racks to suit most tastes, requirements and budgets. A good rack helps the system components perform at their best. Alternatively, bespoke cabinets can be commissioned and we can advise with regard to required dimensions, equipment layout etc.

How far apart should I place my speakers?

This depends on the room and type of speakers, but normally between 6 - 12ft apart. We can advise.

What is AV?

'AV' stands for Audio Visual and is used to refer to Home Cinema systems. In basic terms, a Home Cinema system consists of a source, usually a Media Centre or Blu Ray player, an amplifier, which has processing and amplification for five separate channels (or more) and a speaker package which consists of three speakers for the front (Front left, Right and Centre) two speakers or more speakers for rear effects and a subwoofer. At Oranges & Lemons we stock a number of 'AV' systems which we believe provide great Home Cinema whilst also sounding good for music.

Do you do multiroom systems?

Multiroom as it is called comes in many guises offering differing levels of quality, versatility and control at many different price points. Oranges and Lemons has built up an excellent reputation for specifying and installing these systems. Once you have an idea of what you want to achieve, come in and discuss it with us. You can book in for a free consultation and can advise your options and produce a proposal for you to consider.

Do you handle repairs?

Provided it is a brand we deal with we are happy to look after your repairs. Currently we can handle simple electronics and speaker repairs in-store but send more complicated board level, or replacement part repairs directly back to the manufacturers - we can advise, please see our repairs page for more information.

Do you offer turntable servicing?

Yes, we are experts in the servicing of Rega's and Linn LP12's and may also handle other brands subject to the parts still being available - please give us a call and if we don’t know, we can find out.
